Newer Tiolets are Changing Bathroom Options

June 24, 2014 - Updated: June 24, 2014

The newest available options for domestic toilets may change how you plan your next bathroom renovation, including where you locate your bathroom. For example, industry innovations and developments have led to toilets with smaller footprints, which might allow you to accommodate a power room in a smaller space- such as a hall or vestibule closet. Another new toilet utilizes technology that does not require traditional large waste pipe draining, which means you no longer need to install a toilet at the home’s central waste pipe (commonly known as the stack). Taking advantage of a self-enclosed “mulching” mechanism, these newer models require much smaller pipe diameters and less acute angles for waste disposal. Another innovation utilized gray water for flushing, thereby saving our precious water resources for cleaner needs. When looking for the newest models, be sure to get a unit that meets the Water Sense conservation standard.
